SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
Claire Hollindaile
Meet Claire
I am passionate about supporting children to build communication skills that allow them to engage in the things that bring them the most joy. Through prioritising connection, I create a safe and positive space and encourage learning through interests and strengths.
I bring empathy and experience to working with families in understanding and valuing neurodivergence. I work with families to design a service delivery option that suits the child’s needs, working with parents and educators to wrap supports around children, and supporting children to build skills and self-advocacy so that they can be their best selves in a world that is not always built for them. I draw upon my years of experience in both school-based, private, and clinical education roles to deliver evidence-based supports that also consider the uniqueness of every child and family. I highly value the experience and expertise of families, educators and other health professionals, and strive to integrate different perspectives in my practice to continually grow as a speech pathologist and better support my clients.
I have experience working with children and young adults with a broad range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language and literacy difficulties, hearing impairment, multimodal communication, as well as children with feeding difficulties. My areas of passion include early language development, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, neurodivergent communication, trauma-informed care, and speech sound disorders.
In my spare time, you’ll find me enjoying endless cups of tea, crafting and creating, and trying to keep up with my 2 labradors and 2 young daughters!

Fun facts about Claire
What do you value most in the therapy space?
The little (and not so little) people I have the privilege to spend time with! I get so much joy from seeing my clients experience “aha!” moments, and every client I work with teaches me something new.
What is a quote or saying you live by?
In my professional role: “Kids do well if they can” - Dr Ross Greene
In my personal life: “Comparison is the thief of joy” - though still very much working on this one!
What is your go-to tea or coffee order?
An English Breakfast tea with a dash of milk (not too much!)
If you could choose a superpower, which one and why?
The power to slow down time – I have too many things I want to do in too little time!
Education
I have a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (1st Class Honours) and am currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Innovative Teaching and Learning to support my other passion of educating speech pathology students as a university Associate Lecturer.
