PRACTICE DIRECTOR & REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST

Courtney Norton

Meet Courtney

Hi, I’m Courtney, a Registered Psychologist, mum of two little boys, and someone who’s genuinely passionate about helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

These days, I work mainly with children and young adults, supporting them through challenges like emotional regulation, anxiety, social connection, learning differences, and neurodiversity. I believe therapy for young people should be fun, engaging, and a space where they feel safe to be themselves, whether that’s through play, creativity, or conversation.

I have a strong passion for psychological assessments and enjoy helping families better understand their child’s learning profile, behaviours, strengths, and areas for growth. I love that assessments can bring clarity, direction, and confidence to families and educators alike.

Alongside my work with children and adolescents, I have a special interest in supporting mums as they navigate the beautiful but often messy journey of motherhood. My goal is for women to feel safe, unjudged, and deeply understood, by sitting with someone who truly gets it and is living and breathing it too.

My career began in the disability sector, where I worked in direct support and behaviour management. It was here I discovered my love for helping children build social and emotional skills, and for working alongside families to create positive, sustainable change. From there, my path led me into Forensic Psychology, and I completed by internship and supervision working in a prison. This experience deepened my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the many ways people adapt and grow.

In therapy, I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy in my work with both children and adults.

I hope to think I bring warmth, energy, and a genuine love for what I do to every session. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me chasing after my two boys, or one of the many animals my husband has brought home, or out camping and cooking something hearty with my family.
