PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Danielle Irving
Meet Danielle
Hi I’m Danielle, I’m a Provisional Psychologist with a passion for collaborative, strengths-based therapy that empowers individuals, carers, and children to make meaningful, sustainable change.
I began my career as a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker (SEWB) in a remote community, supporting Aboriginal and non Aboriginal children and adults experiencing intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, and relationship challenges. I’m deeply grateful to the Barkindji and Mutthi Mutthi people for allowing me to walk alongside them in their healing.
Here on Gumbaynggirr Country, I’ve also worked as a family therapist, helping parents and carers build effective, nurturing strategies to support their children. I value strong rapport, active listening, and unconditional positive regard, and I aim to help clients develop lifelong skills they can carry forward with confidence.
Outside of work, you’ll find me recharging by the water or spending time with family and friends.
Standard Session Fee: $110
Please note: Danielle is a provisional psychologist, which means her sessions aren’t eligible for Medicare rebates just yet.

Therapeutic Approaches
As a Provisional Psychologist, I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Motivational Interviewing for addiction, and Reinforcement-Based Therapy for addiction.
I tailor therapy to each individual, combining structured psychological strategies with compassion, cultural understanding, and a strengths-based perspective. My goal is always to support clients in building skills, confidence, and resilience they can carry long after therapy ends.
